Who is Augusta First Church?
We are a church. Pretty normal (if there is such a thing as "normal"). We study the Bible and believe that God's Word is our standard. We trust in God's amazing grace for our salvation. Our hope & faith is in the person and work of Jesus Christ--He is our Lord & Savior! And we believe that the Holy Spirit can help us every day to live our life as followers & disciples of Jesus Christ. Pretty simple; fairly normal.
But we're also very different--in the best sense of "different!" We all have a relationship with Jesus Christ! We believe that everybody needs to have a real-life relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship happens by faith when we say "yes" to God in Christ...when we seek God's will for our life and acknowledge His ways...when we walk in holiness & purity... The Bible says "God was in Christ reconciling the whole world to Himself." We all believe and live as if God actually loves us (He does!) and that he loves this lost & broken world (He does!). We exist to connect all our friends to the Living God. Very different.
So what do we really believe? You'll have to get inside to know for sure, but here's what people are saying: First, we're Christians (means we exist to follow Jesus and bless the world); second, we're holiness-minded (means we're filled with the Holy Spirit...that God's power in my life & your life can set us free from sin to love God and love everyone else); third & finally, we're missional (means God blesses us so we can bless YOU and anyone else we meet). Christian...holiness...missional. That’s our 3 core values. We exist to know God and to make Him known. We're Christ-like disciples who are sanctified to make more Christ-like disciples!
The Worship Experience at Augusta First Church:
When you visit Augusta First Church you need to know that we've already been praying for you. You'll be our guest, and then you'll be our friend. We pray daily for our community, and we're praying daily to the Lord of the Harvest to bring us more workers! We exist for you! Nobody comes to Augusta First Church by accident--God draws us together!
When you arrive you'll find great parking. Need a valet? -no problem! ...we have warm & friendly greeters who will welcome you & help you find your way around. Late night? -we have a coffee bar with the best free coffee & tea ever...and, for you Starbuck's lovers: an awesome espresso bar with a barista who will bless your socks off. If you get up early enough you'll find Christian fellowship in a Sunday School class. Then at about 10:00 the worship team will inspire our worship with Spirit-filled music, Scripture-reading & prayer...more inspiring worship music... (it's quite casual, you'll feel right at home in God's Presence)... And Pastor Kevin will teach from God's Word (bring your Bible!). The worship facility is comfortable, air-conditioned, and filled with God's Presence and lots of really friendly people who love the Lord and will love you.
Babies? -you'll love our excellent nursery (lots of babies...great care-providers!)
Kids? The kids will be dismissed from worship to head into "Praisetown" (our Junior Church program). All our children's workers are CPR/basic first aid qualified, with background checks and "excellence-certified" teacher's training--the very best for our kids!
